Terms of service
Effective 2 October 2026
These terms apply when you use Track That Race on the web, on a phone, tablet or watch. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to them. Track That Race is built and run by Maré Greyling, trading as thevertex, in South Africa.
1. What Track That Race does
Track That Race is one platform for any race with a start and a finish. It tracks every entry live, times it at each checkpoint or lap and shows results per class. It runs alongside a race's own official timing.
2. Safety
3. Your account
- Give true details, and keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for what happens on your account.
- A person under 18 may use Track That Race only with the consent of a parent or guardian.
- You can close your account at any time in Settings.
4. Roles in a race
Organisers, race control, scrutineers, marshals, captains and crew each see and do different things in a race. Nobody gets a role without accepting it. Organisers are responsible for the races they create and for the people they invite, and must treat other people's contact details as the privacy policy describes.
5. Acceptable use
Do not use Track That Race to break the law, harass anyone, record other people's locations without their knowledge, upload content you have no right to share, or interfere with the service or other people's accounts.
6. Your content
Photos, videos, messages and tracks you add stay yours. You allow Track That Race to store and show them to the people and in the places the service is designed for (for example the race page and results), for as long as they are part of the service.
7. Fees
Using Track That Race is free unless a price is clearly shown before you pay. If you buy something, the price and what it includes are shown first; payments go through Paystack or the App Store.
8. Availability and changes
I work to keep Track That Race running and accurate, but I cannot promise it will always be available, error-free or uninterrupted. I may change, add or remove features, and I will say so when a change affects you.
9. Liability
To the extent the law allows, Track That Race is not liable for loss or damage from using it, from relying on its times, positions or results, or from it being unavailable. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the Consumer Protection Act or other law that cannot be excluded.
10. Ending use
I may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, after telling the account holder why, unless the matter is urgent or unlawful.
11. Law
These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of South Africa.
12. Changes and contact
If these terms change, the new version is posted here with a new date. Questions: hello@mare-greyling.com. How personal information is handled is set out in the privacy policy.
