Track That Race is on its way to the App Store and Google Play. Help me test it: sign up with your email, tick “I will help test the app” and choose your phone, and I email you the test app.
Every entry on the map while the race is on, checkpoint and lap times recorded automatically, and results per class when they are final.
Boat racing is live on the platform today, raced on real courses at sea. The same core runs every race type that comes next: the course, the timing, the live map, race control and results.
Watch simulated boats round drifting buoys, follow their coloured tracks and see laps counted. A new race starts every five minutes, even when nobody is watching.
Choose Open Live View to see the whole course in your browser, with no sign-in. Select a boat to inspect it, or Whole course to see everyone. Open in app takes you to that race when Track That Race is installed; otherwise keep watching here.
To try Captain, Crew, Organiser or Marshal, sign in and choose View simulated test races. Your usual role stays unchanged unless you choose the demo.
Screens from Track That Race test races, with sample data. Apple Watch and Wear OS apps are in development; their screens follow.
Same platform, your sport's own words and roles. Ask for a demo, or join the test rounds for boat racing now and for the next race types as they open.
Anyone with the link watches the race on a map from their phone — no app, no sign-up, no install.
Every checkpoint and every lap is recorded as it is crossed, so nobody is counting laps by eye.
Standings build as the race runs, marked not final until the organiser publishes them.
Track That Race runs alongside the official timing, not as it. Times are defensible to about one second — tenths need a beam or a transponder at the line. A race is tracked from phones, so it keeps recording through a signal blackout and fills in when the phone comes back into cover; only live viewing stops.
Running a race this season? I will set it up with you and run it alongside your own timing.
